My problems will be in kJ /mol. •Assume that T = 298 K unless otherwise stated . •Always show your work . On exams, you must at a minimum show the starting equation and indicate what you "plugged in" to that equation to get your answer. •Remember to state UNITS of answers -- units are important ! 1. Calculation of Δ G°' from K eq ': Fructose 1,6-bisphosphate (F-1,6-BP) DHAP + GAP K eq = 6.74 x 10 –5 M at 37 °C. (Note that units of K eq ' depend on the specific reaction . Equilibrium mass action ratio for this reaction is {[DHAP][GAP]/[F-1,6-BP]} eq , so units are M•M/M = M ; however, units disappear when you take the natural log of the number, and units of Δ G°' end up being determined by units of RT.) Calculate Δ G°'. 2. Calculation of K eq from Δ G°': Glucose 1-phosphate Glucose 6-phosphate Δ G°' = – 7.6 kJ/mol Calculate K eq ' at 25 °C .
