Market: Exchange is driven by production and consumption, there  is normally a concern for profit ii. Subsistence: People produce most if what they need to survive 1. Uses mostly the modes of reciprocity or redistribution for  exchange II. Modes of Exchange: Components of Economic Systems a. Marshal Sahlins – associated with modes of exchange b. Reciprocity i. All forms of society have some form of reciprocity ii. The exchange of goods or services of approximately equal in value
