Course Objectives Provide the fundamentals necessary to study the motion of machines (“ Kinematics” ). Intend to bridge the gap between a theoretical study of kinematics and the application to practical mechanisms (or applications). Ultimately develop your ability to design viable mechanisms to real-world problems by using a design process.

Kinematics? Kinematics is the study of the geometry of motion. One principal aim of Kinematics is to create (or design) the desired motions of the subject mechanical parts and mathematically compute the position, velocities, and accelerations. Early decisions in the design process involving kinematic principles can be crucial to the success of any mechanical design.
