Trophic Ecology and Food Chains Trophic ecology represents the field which investigates the flow of energy through different organisms. Food chains are representative of the organisms that pass energy from the sun. Generally, less than 10% of the energy at one level is passed on to the next level. They do not represent the real world which is much more complex.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
