TEKS A. NO TEKS – SPECIAL LESSON PLAN FOR FREEDOM WEEK III. Objectives A. Students will learn about the importance of the Preamble to the United States Constitution by writing a classroom rules version of the Preamble in groups of 4. IV. Anticipatory Set A. Tell the students to take out a piece of paper and answer the following question: “What do you think it would be like if you came to school and there were no rules?” B. Allow 3 minutes for students to respond. C. After 3 minutes have some students share their answers. D. Share with students how the founding fathers of our country felt a need for an organized government after we broke away from Britain to prevent chaos. E. Tell the students that today we will discuss the Preamble, or introduction to the Constitution, which set out the goals of the new government. V. Learning Activities
