In grade 7, students study the history of Texas from early times to present. This course allows students  to take a closer look at a particular segment of history and gives them a different perspective than  other social studies courses. Students will examine the full scope of Texas history, including the  cultures of Native Americans, colonization, revolution, republic, and statehood. Course instruction is  based on the TEKS which include the following concepts as they relate to Texas History: geography,  economics, government, citizenship, culture, science, technology, and society. TEXTBOOK TITLE:   Lone Star – The Story of Texas Publisher: Prentice Hall REPLACEMENT COST: $55.00 Fines ranging from $1.00 to full price will be assigned for damages.
