UTL 341R – Overcoming Reading Difficulties Literature Circle Reflection November 19 , 2009 Literature Circle Reflection When we first got the assignment for the literature circles , I can fairly say that I was hesitant about the idea . I was not sure how it would translate into my classroom or how effective and useful it would be . After participating in the literature circles , I have both positive and negative feelings about the process . As for the positive , I can definitely see how the activity would start to help students dialogue about a book they were reading . By assigning different jobs to different students and then talking about what they learned , is a fantastic way to help ensure that the book made more sense . I found that this was especially useful for the summarizer . Having someone , summarize the book in a few sentences was really quite helpful in understanding the book . My biggest negative aspect about the activity was that I could not personally see using this activity in my classroom .
