CSE220 Programming for Computer Engineering (Spring 2009) Lab Project 1 (total: 25 points) [Solution] Q4 (0.5 pt): the path of the home directory (command: pwd) Q9 (0.5 pt): command: mkdir cse220-p01 Q10 (0.5 pt): drwxr-xr-x (command: ls –l) Q11 (0.5 pt): d means “directory” Q12 (0.5 pt): permission rwx for a file: the owner can read, write (modify, delete, rename, move, etc.), and execute the file. Q13 (0.5 pt): permission rwx for a directory: the owner can read, write (modify, delete, rename, move, etc.), and execute the directory. The rw permission is straightforward (read: ls, write: rmdir, mv, etc.), but x permission for a directory is not. Execute a directory means to do something in that directory, so without x permission “cd” command is not allowed. Q14 (0.5 pt): they can read (open) and execute the file, but can not modify, delete, rename and move it. Q15 (0.5 pt): command: 1. cd cse220-p01 2. mkdir dir01 3. mkdir dir02 4. mkdir dir03 Q16 (0.5 pt): cse220-p01/dir01 Q17 (0.5 pt): home(answer for Q4)/cse220-p01/dir01 Q18 (0.5 pt): .(dot) refers the current directory which is dir02. .
