Jason Frankel Marketing Homework December 9, 2009 1. The CEO of Seventh Generation convinces me that is a good idea for their company to do business with Wal-Mart. He, like many other people, had this stigma that Wal-Mart treated its employees terribly. The CEO, however, began realizing that Wal- Mart is a wonderful company to do business with. Wal-Mart is huge, and the CEO notes the success of the companies that partner with the superstore. Essentially, it was worth seeing if the “dark sides” of Wal-Mart really outweigh the benefits that would come from the partnership. The CEO lays out three reasons why they ultimately decided to business with Wal-Mart- 1. They compared Wal-Mart to other retailers and found out that they performed at the top in nearly all of the aspects Seventh Generation was looking for, and Wal-Mart even outperformed other companies Seventh Generation were already working with. 2. Wal-Mart is changing for the good of the environment, and 3. Wal-Mart has started opening up to those “dark sides” they are often called out on. They have begun to
