Unformatted text preview: Jason F rankel Marketing Homework November 4, 2009 One important trend in digital marketing has been behavioral marketing. Google started doing this, where they have ads based on previous searches and activity by the user on the Internet. Behavioral marketing is a new trend because it displays what has been on the users mind and what his or her interests are. When online spam and pop up ads started to bother us, now those ads on the side of the screen are things we enjoy. Google has essentially made the page a list of things we enjoy. Those ads, as consumers, arent perceived as spam. Most users find them very helpful in fact, meaning they will be much more effective. We do not associate these ads with the negative connotations of pop up ads. This new trend has been very effective, and will continue to be effective as it makes online advertisements more bearable and helpful for Internet users....
