Film Analysis Paper 1 French Kiss Culture is something this is unique and personal to everyone in every part of the world. Many times we don’t notice the differences, or even similarities, between cultures until we interact with someone who doesn’t share the same values, attitudes and behaviors as our own. Sometimes these differences come as a shock or sometimes they confirm preconceived stereotypes that many people share when it comes to cultures outside of their own. The movie “French Kiss” starring Meg Ryan as Kate and Kevin Kline as Luc portrays various cultural differences and stereotypes in regards to Americans and Frenchmen. This is seen immediately in the opening scene when Kate’s fear of flying has her in a hysteric state, which she isn’t shy to vocalize. This demonstrates the common stereotype that American are loud and not too keen on hiding their emotions. As the film progresses and Kate is on an actual flight to France, we see clearly many French stereotypes that are completely inaccurate of Frenchmen. Through the entire movie, right
