Material Covered
The Final Exam will cover all sections listed on the Course Outline.
While the Final Exam does cover the entire course, the last third of the course (Blocks IX to XII) will be
emphasized more than each of the ﬁrst two thirds, which have already been tested.
Calculators
Only the Faculty approved calculators with the Pink Tie stickers will be allowed.
Deﬁnitions, Theorems and Proofs
The Final Exam could ask you to state any deﬁnition from Blocks I to XII.
You should know all results from class.
The Final Exam could also ask you to prove at least one of the following results from class:

Euclid’s Theorem 2.52
•
Proposition 8.42
•
Proposition 8.44 parts (i), (ii), (iii) (NOT part (iv))
•
De Moivre’s Theorem 8.61
•
Rational Roots Theorem 9.31
In each of these cases, we would state the result and ask you to prove it. Please note that the results may
not be stated using exactly the same notation as in the textbook, so memorizing the proofs symbol by
