Summary There are around 7.5 million humans that throughout the whole world, and that number increases every single day. The Earth is known to have unlimited resources, in turn, causing a boom in population. For example, the population was around 1 billion in 1800, doubled by the year 1927, and doubled once more by 1974 (Hwang, 2018). With the amount of reproduction that is occurring, the number of humans will gradually increase. Due to the consumption of resources and overwhelming pollution humans are creating, there is a prediction that the population will eventually plateau. The Worldwatch Institute estimates there is around 4.69 acres of land per person (for food, wood, waste consumption, etc.); however, the average person uses around 23.9 acres (Hwang, 2018).
