Additional Information and Directions for Completing the Human Resources Worksheets If you check the Recitation Assignment sheet posted here on Blackboard, you will see that the HR Worksheet is due on Monday, November 16 (one week from the date this is being posted). Additional Instructions for Job Identification (Learning Guide, p. 303) Posted on Blackboard, you will find the Case Study Update, which tells you what Will decided to do for his Second Life businesses. Considering those three jobs, make a list of all the positions that will have to be filled in order to operate those businesses. Will has been given sufficient money to operate the busi- nesses, so you are not to be concerned on these worksheets with the finances of the exercise; you are to properly staff the businesses. There are twenty (20) places to fill in job titles. You may use as many of those spaces as you need; if you need more spaces, add a sheet – if you have empty lines, that’s OK, as long as you’ve properly staffed the businesses. After each number on the page write a job title. On the line and a half following the title, tell VERY briefly what that employee will be doing. Additional Instructions for Organization Chart (Learning Guide, p. 305) Using the jobs you listed on the previous page, draw an organization chart of the businesses as you will set them up. Remember that boxes represent people or groups of people, and that lines represent the relationships between them. Note that each person or group of people reports to the person above him/her on the chart, so be careful how you arrange the employees on your chart. Your organization may be a line organization, a line-and-staff organization, a matrix organization, a virtual organization, or a reasonable combination of them. Make sure your chart is extremely clear.
