1 Engr 6531 – Project Part 1 BCEE 343 – Homework Problems General Requirements 1. Student collaboration: Students may discuss homework problems in general terms, but you must not share nor reveal any detail of your work, computer program, and report. As the submitted reports will not be returned, it is advisable that you keep the original copy. 2. Report presentation: your report will include the following two sections: A) Summary 1 : a) The info as specified in individual problems. b) Conclusions and observations. B) Appendix 2 —Include the following information for each problem: a) The analytical development specific to the element matrices being used and with sufficient details for program implementation. b) Sketch of the model showing a typical mesh c) Computer program listing. d) Typical program output. PROJECT PART 1 The bridge pier has the geometry as shown. The concrete weighs 25 kN/m 3 and its modulus of elasticity is E = 28GPa. The exact axial displacement is given by
