January 10, 2009 John and Sandy Via 12 Maple Avenue Albany, NY 12205 Dear Mr. Via: I appreciate the opportunity to advise you regarding this tax matter. To ensure a complete understanding between us, I am writing you this letter stating the information we discussed and my recommendations I will offer with the facts you provided to me. The following facts are based on our conversation on January 10, 2009. If these facts are incomplete or false, please let me know right away. You and your two children currently reside at 12 Maple Avenue, Albany, NY 12205. You and Sandy are married and file a joint Federal income tax return. You both have two children, a 12-year old son and a 10-year old daughter. Your wife Sandy is currently in the United States Air force and has been stationed in Germany for the entire year. This year you have been working on an irregular basis and have brought in $8,000 in wages while Sandy salary was $25,000. In addition to Sandy’s salary was a food and lodging allowance provided by the Air Force valued at $10,000.
