Molecular Structure of Proteins\ 1. 1 O = aa sequence 2. 2 O = regular folding & twisting as a result of weak bonds (ex: electrostatic/H-) btwn NH & CO groups of amino acids that are near each other on the chain a. α -helix & β -pleated sheet 3. 3 O = 3D structure of single polypeptide; aka conformation; related to distribution of R groups along the chain 4. 4 O = complex of polypeptide chain in multisubunit protein; ex: hemoglobin 5. folding depends on chaperon proteins II.
