Organizational Decisions 03 STRATEGIC CHOICES – Long Range Goals/Focus Business Strategy - What type of business are we going to be? Marketing Strategy - Who’s our customer?  What do they desire? Operations Strategy - How often?  What are they willing to pay?  Where do they live?  Can we accomplish this profitably? Manufacturing Strategy – Where will we make it?  How will we make  it? DESIGN DECISIONS – Plan to achieve goal Product/Service Design  - Functional, appealing, affordable… Process Design  - How exactly will it be produced in large quantities? Supply Chain Network Design – How will move towards the  customer? OPERATING DECISIONS – Day-to-Day decisions This is material we’ll cover later this semester.  Nonetheless,  operational efficiency is largely dependent on strategic and design  decisions. Managing labor, capital, facilities, supply chain partners, etc.
