EE 330 Assignment 12 Fall 2008 Problem 1 Assume the following circuits are all sized and biased so that all transistors are in the saturation region. Determine the small signal voltage gain in terms of the small signal device parameters and make a quantitative comparison of the relative gains of the three circuits Problem 2. Design a cascode MOS amplifier for a voltage gain of -40. You have available MOS transistors and DC voltage and current sources for your design. Verify your design with a SPICE simulation. Problem 3 Determine the small signal voltage gain of the following circuit for a differential excitation. Assume the bias voltage has been selected so that all transistors are operating in the saturation region and that the circuit is symmetric (that is, M 2 and M 2A are matched and M 1 and M 1A are matched). d V 2 d V 2
