BUS 303: Job Description2Senior Program ManagerI have been working as a Senior Program Manager for the United States military for the last year; mind you I spent 20+ years in the Air Force prior to this… My job as a program manager is over 11 separate contracts that allow for field commanders, ground forces, and all other top agencies to collect the near real-time data from surveillance Aircraft. This ranges from the antenna, cameras, software, and the bodies that work on the equipment. The actual program in which I do is called Distributed Common Ground Systems, which is actually classified as a weapons system. “The Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS), also referred to as the AN/GSQ-272 SENTINEL weapon system, is the Air Force’s primary intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) planning and direction, collection, processingand exploitation, analysis and dissemination (PCPAD) weapon system. In the military we call this a Performance of Work Statement (PWS) and also a Task Description (TD). These together for the actual Job Description. The PWS states what needs to be accomplished, the broad picture of mission/job.
