A table is a structured file that can store data of a specific type. So database is a kind of data and table is a structured file used to store these data. Imagine a database as a filing cabinet. When you store information in your filing cabinet you don't just toss it in a drawer.Rather,you creat files within the filing cabinet, and then you file related data in specific files. That file is called a table. My major is finance. A typical example database can be the information of all the stocks. It may has tables like "company", which contains the information about these stocks' company, "price", which contains the prices of different stocks, "analysis", which contains the different aspects of analysis about these stocks. ...
