Kinesiology The study of movement Brings together the fields of anatomy, physiology, physics and geometry Anatomical position see card Joint movement Flexion Extension Hyperextension Flexion Bending movement causing a decrease in the joint angle Decreasing range Finger flexion – making a fist closing hands; Flexion movement is usually anterior – the exception is knee flexion Extension Movement that causes an increase in the joint angle Exception is glenohumeral flexion Increasing range Extension movement is usually posterior Hyperextension Shoulder 1
