Maren FlemingOper 44011/25/19American Factory – Netflix Documentary SummaryI think one of the biggest and most interesting take-aways from watching clips from “American Factory” is how much the difference in employee culture has an impact on the overallefficiency, successes and culture of the company. Blending two different cultures from two different countries is not an easy task, even when the countries’ cultures offer similarities. However, for the employees from Dayton, Ohio and the employees who have moved from Chinato work in the Ohio plant, the culture could not clash more.The American workers from Ohio are hard-working, dedicated, and excited to work after the closing of the General Motors factory in 2012 forced many of them to sell or foreclose their homes and send many employees back financially. Their expectations are American in all ways. They expect a separate area to eat their lunches, away from production. Weekends should be timespent to recharge and see family, not mandatory to work. Overtime is not allowed. And even more importantly, there are rules and laws that need to be followed and enforced, especially
