From: John Marohn To: Chem 3000 students CC: Chem 3000 teaching assistants Date: 2009/09/15, Tuesday Re: Finishing experiments in the allotted time The teaching assistants and I have put together the following friendly advice for how (and why) to finish experiments on time. 1- Bring a copy of the laboratory-manual instructions with you to lab. This is necessary. We have discouraged you from copying the procedures word-for-word into your notebooks beforehand; even if you did so, it is our experience that you probably forgot to write down a crucial detail. You could ask your TA or you could ask your neighbor for help, but this can be avoided by planning ahead. Please PLEASE print out and bring a copy of the laboratory-manual instructions with you to lab. This will save everyone a lot of time. 2- Remember, this course is not simply about collecting the best possible data. It is about collecting the best possible data in four hours .
