L AB 1: M ULTI S IM TUTORIAL LABORATORY I Purpose The purpose of this tutorial is for you to become familiar with the MultiSim software. You will first work through the examples presented in a document prepared for students at Florida International University (FIU). Then, you will build and explore several circuits that rely on simple components you studied in previous classes. II FIU tutorial Follow the FIU tutorial through the first few circuits. Note that there are a few errors or missing information in the document: Page 11: the capacitor value is 1 μ F, rather than 0.47 μ F Page 12: For the transient analysis, you need to replace voltage source V1 by an ac voltage source Page 14: the signal source for the integrator is an ac voltage source Page 16: Select to display the input and output voltages when you click on the output tag Stop when you reach the circuit labeled example 3 (BJT differential amplifier) III Circuit analysis with Multisim Consider the circuit below. Considering that R2 and R3 are in parallel, derive the total resistance faced by the voltage source. From there, compute the total current produced by source V1. Then, consider that the total current divides into I2 (through R2) and I3 (through I3), use your knowledge of circuit analysis to derive the currents I2 and I3. R1
