Division 9 Finishes Other than roofing and sealants,  probably the most difficult to coordinate  and acquire acceptance from Owner. Very weather and temperature specific.  (remember moisture content in the  material) Typically will be ‘adjusted’ in the master  schedule to perform work in less time.

Plaster -  All elements of a gypsum or portland cement plaster  membrane include several coats of plaster, metal  reinforcement, accessories, and backing paper when  required. Is gypsum a renewable resource??? (look in book) Plaster mix – Mortar consisting of properly  proportioned quantities of cementitious materials,  aggregate (sand, vermiculite, perlite), water, and  sometimes pigments, plasticizers, and other  admixtures. Stronger plasters are produced using rough, sharp,  angular aggregates (rather than round smooth  aggregates)

Gypsum Chemically unique Add water and it turns plastic.  It may be  molded and shaped.  After it sets, it is an  effective fire barrier. Pure form is known as “Plaster of Paris.” Has been used in some form since 2000  B.C.
