My plan to resolve the situation would be to pair up one Caucasian and one African American and make them write down 5 things that each of their races have contributed to Americans. This would begin to get the ball rolling for showing the class that people of different races can work together. I then would explain to the class how important it is for their generation to learn to get along together and learn to deal with their issues in an adult manner. I would explain that just because someone is from a different race or different religion doesn’t mean that they are any better or worse off than you are. The strategies that I would use in Ms. Williams classroom would be just making sure that the students learn that they can work

I believe by forcing the students to push through what they are almost afraid of is the best way to show them that there is nothing to be afraid of. The second would be just to let everyone talk. One by one if needed in order to answer any questions and address all concerns. By assigning one person at a time who will talk when would make it easier to maintain any arguing. Students could write down notes during the other students talk time and then when questions are to be answered they may ask or present any issues that they may have....
