WELCOME Political Science 104: Introduction to American Politics and Government Professor David Canon M-W, 2:30-3:45 Ingraham B10 INTRODUCTION Nuts and Bolts Email classlists. My office hours: MW 4:15-5:15 (note change from syllabus, 413 North Hall. TA office hours: TBA (they will announce these in section). Sections meet starting tomorrow. Complete the readings before coming to section. Questions on syllabus. Books: American Politics Today. William T. Bianco and David T. Canon, 1 st ed . W.W. Norton , 2009. The Enduring Debate , 5th ed., David T. Canon, John J. Coleman, and Kenneth R. Mayer. Course Policies Note the guidelines on pp. 1-2 of the syllabus Clear your calendars for the exams First Midterm: Wednesday, February 17 th Second Midterm: Wednesday, March 24 th (the Wed. before Spring break) Final: Monday, May10 th 2:45-4:45 p.m. No make-up exams (except for truly extraordinary circumstances). Adding or Changing Sections Come up after class if you need to change sections. Take care of section changes by next week. Do Not try to change sections through on-line registration if the section you want is full. If you would like to add the class, register for one of the open discussion sections and we can take care of a section change later if you need to. My Web Page
