H.04: A 800 mm long aluminum shaft has the cross-section shown below. The shaft is subjected to a torque T = 750 N-m and has a uniform wall thickness of 6 mm. Neglecting the effect of stress concentrations, find (a) the shearing stress at points a and b , and (b) the total angle of twist of the shaft. Note that the semicircular ends have inner radii of 30 mm.
