Stahov1 Todd Stahoviak Eng. 104 Mrs. Roach 10-28-09 My Surprising Research Paper Writing is a form of communication that people are going to use throughout their entire lifetime. While in high school, I had to write a paper for which I got to choose whichever subject I wanted to talk about. Seeing as how writing a paper is not my best trait, it was hard for me to select a topic that I thought suited the assignment most. Even though I was able to write about anything I wanted, it was extremely hard to choose just one topic. The first step I took was to start brainstorming topics that I thought were interesting to me and relevant to the assignment. Doing this allowed me to greatly narrow down the selection of my topic. After selecting my topic, I still had to decide what writing style I wanted to use when preparing the essay. At this point I decided I was going to make it a research paper since I could easily obtain more facts and organize them quickly. This got me thinking of what information I should gather and how I should present it in my writing, so that I could get started with my prewriting. I decided to write about my favorite football team the Chicago Bears and their lovely stadium Soldier Field. I wanted to write about the Bears because I am a die hard fan, and I absolutely love them. When writing, it is very essential to gather pertinent information for constructing the essay in order to make it successful. Although brainstorming can quickly get you a topic or ideas, it will not help you organize or express your
