It should be consulted regularly for updates to our class schedule, and is the location for online versions of the syllabus and course assignments. The writing program website also contains useful guidance for students taking expos. Required texts: ( Please bring both books to each class meeting.) Miller and Spellmeyer, The New Humanities Reader, 2 nd Edition Ruszkiewicz, Friend and Hairston, Handbook for Writers Course description and goals: In this course you will read and write about a variety of texts that deal with interesting and relevant contemporary issues. Course goals include helping you read deeply, think critically, and write interpretively and effectively, in order to create your own independent argument that synthesizes multiple sources.
