Seth Patrick 2/16/2010 Document 117The Unfunded Mandate Reform Act (1995)Congress set out unfunded mandates to the state governments which required them to carry out particular measures without appropriating the money to do so. The Unfunded Mandates Act would put a stop to the unfair treatment and disadvantage placed upon the State and local governments by Congress. Without the act Congress had power to impose cost to the state without reimbursing them for the burden. The Act would strengthen the bond between State and Federal Government as well as end the imposition.
