S.O.W. - UNIVERSITY PROJECT PROJECT TITLE : Environmentally Focused Aircraft OBJECTIVE : Enhance conceptual aircraft modeling tools in CATIA V5 with systems and structures modeling capability. DESCRIPTION: The project consists of increasing the scope of existing tools to enable quick 3D modeling of different aircraft configurations together with their interiors, with the ultimate goal of generating a complete conceptual 3D model of an aircraft, including exterior surfaces, structures, interior, and systems. The intent is to enable quick turn-around of novel aircraft configurations, by assessing the exterior and interior properties concurrently during a design cycle. The candidate will focus on the modeling of the systems, specifically flight controls and the wing structure.

BENEFITS: Industry: Develop a tool to support Bombardier’s Advanced Product Development activities and Strategic Technology initiatives. Student: Increase knowledge of 3D configuration and automation in CATIA V5, as well as of Aerospace and new aircraft designs.
