AST10G Midterm Exam 1 Version A DO NOT OPEN THE EXAM UNTIL INSTRUCTED. Write your name, Student ID, and Exam Version on your Scantron and on this cover sheet. For short-answer questions, write your answers on the first few (blank) sheets of the exam. For multiple-choice, enter the best answer on the scantron (also circle the answer on the exam if you want to make your corrections easier). Turn in your scantron and short- answer pages at the end of the exam. Tear off the questions and take them home. After the exam: You may research and submit corrections to your answers as described in the email. For multiple-choice questions that you think you got wrong, write (directly on the question sheet) the correct letter answer and a 1-2 sentence explanation of WHY it is the correct answer. For short-answer questions, write a complete explanation. Turn it in to my mailbox on the second floor of the Physics building by 5pm on Monday (no extensions). You will receive half credit if your explanation convinces me that you now understand the correct answer. During the exam: If you find any multiple-choice question ambiguous or poorly worded, use the end of the short-answer area to indicate the question number, the answer you entered on the scantron, and why it was ambiguous. If you convince me you know what you are talking about, you will get credit regardless of the scantron answer. Please exercise this option only for truly ambiguous questions. Do not forget to write your name on the scantron AND on the cover page with the short answers. If you turn in corrections, do not forget to write your name on the work you turn in. Good luck! 1

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
