Few of the reasons being changes in the customer taste, difficulty in implementing strategy, difficulty in implementing strategy, difficulty in predicting competitors strategy. It talks about marketing concept, in which, why a customer focus is needed, what and how to meet customers’ needs and wants. What are the different organizational philosophies and how to obtain customer orientation. The concept of “outbound” marketing is introduced and the area of customer types and customer needs which are still unexplored. How can marketing serve as a value added activity is also discussed.
