Olesia Stockhold Journal 1 What scares me more than my fear of flying, death, or miller moths, is my fear of unraveling publicly when asked a question. My fear of flying came out of left field a few years ago, and has kept me from experiences and paths that I regret missing. My fear of death is also mostly ridiculous. This fear has been at times immobilizing. My fear of being “called out” in public, however trivial it may sound, is very real but has helped me in life more than it has hurt. All of these fears can be linked to my fear of the “unknown.” I have this “condition” where I research and analyze every single aspect of an idea or fact that I am not one hundred and ten percent certain of. I don’t want to be left with my pants around my ankles when my professor calls on me to answer a question. I have personally never heard whether the brilliant, thought provoking Socrates was a pervert, but I believe he must have really enjoyed seeing his student’s pants around their ankles!
