Olesia Stockhold Biology 105 fall 2009 Extra Credit Lab #1 LAB 16: Muscle Fatigue Objective : To observe how fatigue can effect the number of reps of an exersize a person can do in a set amount of time, and to observe, learn and apply this to muscle function using an x/y graph slope Hypothesis: I predict that as I do the trials one by one, the amount of reps I will accomplish will decrease by about half over the course of the Lab. Procedure: Materials: Self, stopwatch, assistant to time and record. Pen and paper. I gathered my materials, and my assistant and I went to a gym. We set our selves up on a mat, and chose our exercise. I decided to do jumping jacks, as they were the easiest exercise to do accurately. We set the stop watch for 30 seconds, and I began my reps. I took 1 minute to break after I was done with the first set, and completed another 30 second set with a another 1 minute. We repeated this routine another 3 times in its entirety. This brought the total number of 30-second sets of jumping jacks with 1-minute breaks to 5. We recorded the results of each set counting the number of reps
