Homework #5 You can skip problem #1. It is included on the solutions to give you practice with multiple diodes. 1.) Use the ideal diode model to determine which of the following diodes are turned on or off. 2.) In the circuit below, the two sinusoidal sources simulate the output of a transformer with peak to peak voltage of 20 V. (a) Redraw the following circuit at times t=4.166 mS and 12.5 mS (peak of positive cycle and peak of negative cycle) only showing the diodes that are conducting (diodes that are not conducting should be eliminated from each schematic). (b) Using the CVD model and a turn on voltage of 0.7V, sketch by hand the output waveform expected across R1 if C1 is removed from the circuit (i.e. no charge storage). (c) Using PSPICE, simulate the circuit, showing plots of the voltage between nodes 1 and 2 (input voltage) and the voltages between nodes 3 and 4 (output voltage) for the following cases: I) R1 but no C1, II) R1 and C1=10uF and III) R1 and C1=100uF. Explain the differences between each plot. Clearly label all plots.
