Homework #1: Introduction to Windows and Gmail 10 Points This homework is due at the beginning of your second lab. Please read and follow the directions. If you have any questions, contact a TA through e-mail or during office hours. A. Windows 1. How do you change the resolution of the screen? Use the space below to describe every step so someone who does not have access to your computer can repeat it. 2. Describe the steps you need to follow so you can connect your own laptop to the campus network, both by wire and wireless. B. Gmail 1. Create a new label and name it WINTER. 2. Put your TA’s email address in your contacts. Use just their first name for the ‘name’ field (leave ‘title’, ‘company’ and ‘phone number’ blank). 3. Send yourself an e-mail message that says how you like/dislike this class thus far. 4. Once the message has been sent, move the message from your INBOX into your FALL label. C. Office Hours 1. Review over your schedule for the quarter and list down all the office hours that you can attend. If you cannot attend any, write down the hours that you are available to meet with your TA.
