CE 30 Miguel De Gracia Project 1 19481379 Structural Truss Analysis 1. Introduction The purpose of this assignment is to facilitate calculating the forces at each of trusses. This is helpful because if a truss is large, the work required in order to solve for the forces at each bar becomes tedious and monotonous since it is the same concept just applied to all the bars. In this manner we just write the code once and modify it to the specific truss; however, we must understand what the code solves for and how to apply that to questions like failing members, zero-force members, and other such concepts. 2. Methodology I first started by making the column vector “tmember” that identifies how many bars compose the truss structure. After I have drawn the truss on paper and identified which forces act at each of the joints, I create the matrix “TConnectivity,” and this matrix 1
