1. Resonance and Reactivity (5 points). Aniline (below) undergoes electrophilic bromination readily to produce 4-bromoaniline in high yield at temperatures below 0 o C whereas acetanilide brominates much more slowly and generally requires temperatures greater than 20 o C for the reaction to occur at a useful rate. Explain.
