It also filters p 5 Research Assessment Green roofs have successful been instituted in several areas plagued with environmental issues. Along with the University of Florida, several other public universities suffer from excessive stormwater runoff, metallic pollutants, and poor temperature insulation. However, some of these campuses installed green roofs in an attempt to remediate their ecological problems. The results of these relating projects speak for themselves. In 2003, a study of integrating sustainable (green) building practices was study in the state of California (Kats, 2003). Several buildings that were deemed capable, installed green roof systems. California is a forerunner in the green revolution so it makes sense that it would be leading the way in green roof experimentation.
