A solid definition of the Law of Unintended Consequences is provided on page 54 of the assigned article, "The Unintended Consequences of the Application of Technology in Teaching and Learning Environments," which includes work from Portes (2000). Draw a comparison between Portes notion of the importance of careful and sustained analysis of the social context and the red flags of poor decisions.Lack of awareness contributes to unforeseeable events and this is understood as The Law of Unintended Consequences. According to Portes there are five factors linked to unintended consequences. 1) The original goal is not apparent to all participants. 2) Inconsistent actions of participants in relation to the goal.3) External influences that transform the original goal.4) Outside influences that transform the original goal to a contrary outcome.5) The original goal being achieved by unexpected events (Nworie & Haughton, 2008).
