ECE3060 October 12, 2006 Homework #11 due Thursday November 16 @ 4:30pm 100 points 1. (25) Consider the following function: f = (a+b)(c+d). We want to place f in a standard cell library. Design pattern tree(s) for f using as your base functions NAND and INV. As in the technology mapping lecture, use a solid black circle for a NAND, a white circle for an INV, and a grey circle for an input. You do not need to draw anything else; only pattern tree(s) for f using appropriate circles need be drawn. 2. (25) Assume you have the subject tree below. Furthermore, assume that you have the following standard cells from slide 26 of the technology mapping lecture: INV with area cost 2, NAND with area cost 3, NOR with area cost 3, OR2 with area cost 4 and AOI22 with area cost 6. Minimize area in technology mapping the following subject tree using the dynamic programming algorithm taught in class. 3. (25) Assume you have the subject tree below. Furthermore, assume that you have the following standard cells from slide 26 of the technology mapping lecture: INV with delay
