A Scientist label mutational difference between humans is found in the term haplotype. Haplotype could be an entire haploid genome, a single gene or a single nucleotide. SNP is an useful haplotype can be statistically associated with a wide range of human characteristics, eg. Different lineages or different phenotypes. Example, SNPs can be useful for tracing geographic origins. SNP could also useful for tracing disease vulnerability.
