What the Hopi people were best known for. A. “Traditionally the Hopi are highly skilled micro or subsistence farmers...have mainstream jobs...high-quality Hopi art...carvings...ceramics...jewelry” (Weiser) 1. The Hopi people are obviously highly skilled farmers that care about their land, but others also just have normal day jobs or make crafts for tourists. 2. The Hopi people are also known for what they produce from their land and then sell it. 3. The tribe can be also known for their beliefs and ancestors. B. “While the Hopi located their villages on mesas for defensive purposes, the land surrounding the mesas was also used by the tribe, dividing it between families and utilizing common areas for agricultural, medicinal, and religious purposes.” (Weiser) 1.
