Kenney © 2008 3 Course Objectives As part of this course, students: 1. understand professional and ethical responsibility in the workplace 2. expose you to various roles that engineers play in the industry 3. develop an understanding of how professional issues ( teamwork, ethics, licensure, standards ) relate to the practice of engineering design. 4. analyze case studies to understand the methods and constraints associated with realistic design practices. 5. are introduced to models and trade-offs related to product lifecycle and formal product design. 6. develop an understanding of the management structure and finances of high tech businesses.
