Kelsey Lohman 11/3/09 Global Warming The article says that global warming is a problem that has gotten out of control. If we stopped producing greenhouse gases today, the effects of the gases already in the atmosphere would allow global warming to continue for many more years before the gases either break down, or are absorbed into the ocean. I agree with this statement. We have done a great deal of damage to our planet, especially in the last 100 or so years. I believe that it is due to the Industrial revolution. The multitude of technology, especially cars and planes, which were developed used, and still uses, fossil fuels. When burned, these fossil fuels emit large quantities of CO 2 , a very harmful greenhouse gas that has been emitted in the last century that it has blocked an extraordinary amount of sunlight from returning to space. (Global Warming FAQ) The trapped sunlight heats the planet, causing global warming. This planetary increase in temperature is the root cause of climate change. Our weather patterns have gone haywire—
