Biology 002-Laboratory Manual 1     LABORATORY                                                                    ALGAE and FUNGI                                                                                   In this exercise you will have an opportunity to see some of algae and fungi we have been  talking about in class. PROCEDURE With a lab partner and USING YOUR NOTES, answer the following questions  associated with the displays that are either set up around the room and referred to in the textbook.  Hand in your lab before you leave. GRADING 1-3 wrong   =  check 3.5 or over wrong  = check minus Specimen #1.Picture of sea weeds and algae. Look carefully at #28 in the picture and note the following structures:   holdfast,  a blade which is NOT dissected.     In what  division is this organism classified? The oval,  balloon-shaped structures help this organism float in the water.  Name the part of the  organism of which the ballon-shaped structures are a part. (the ‘stem’) Look at #26 in the picture and note the following structures:   overall color,
