Assume that all antenna elements are identical and that their driving currents are of the same magni- tude and in phase. The radiation field of the array is being monitored at a distance of 1 km from the array in the direction of broadside radiation from the array. If the maximum allowable phase error in the quantitative analysis of the radiated field is / 16 , calculate the maximum distance away from the broadside that a plane-wave approximation of the radiation field would be acceptable. 2. A time-harmonic uniform plane wave is propagating in a medium or magnetic permeability that of free space and electric permittivity 4 .
